Introducing the Multi-Site Asset Performance Community
The peer network for maintenance, reliability and asset leaders responsible for multiple sites.
Managing asset performance across multiple plants creates challenges that rarely have simple answers. How much should you standardise? What should remain local? How do you compare sites fairly, scale successful reliability practices and accelerate improvement across an entire organisation?
The Multi-Site Asset Performance Community brings together professionals facing exactly these questions. It provides a trusted peer environment to compare approaches, exchange practical experience and learn how other organisations manage asset performance at scale.

Learning from peers facing the same challenges
The community is not intended as another general maintenance network. It focuses specifically on the challenges that arise when maintenance, reliability and asset management need to work across sites, countries, business units or regions. Peer learning is at its core.
The objective is to create a trusted environment in which participants can discuss what works, what does not, and why. The community should allow members to compare approaches, learn from implementations elsewhere and avoid having every organisation reinvent the same solutions independently.
Depending on the subject, activities can include:
- peer discussions and roundtables;
- practical case exchanges;
- benchmarking and comparison of approaches;
- focused workshops;
- online knowledge-sharing sessions;
- access to relevant Asset Performance content and expertise.
Participation in community activities will be strictly limited to professionals with genuine multi-site responsibilities in maintenance, reliability or asset management. This is essential to preserve the relevance, peer character and trust within the group. Where appropriate, discussions can take place in a confidential setting to enable an open exchange of experiences. External specialists, consultants, technology providers or other experts may be invited to contribute on a specific topic, but only when this is explicitly requested by the community and clearly adds value to the discussion. Community activities will primarily take place through an online platform, making it possible for multi-site leaders from different countries and organisations to participate efficiently. A typical session will combine a focused presentation on a specific multi-site challenge with an interactive peer discussion, allowing participants to compare approaches, share experience and explore practical solutions together.
In addition to the online sessions, the community intends to meet physically once a year, providing an opportunity for more in-depth exchange and stronger peer relationships. The first physical meeting of the Multi-Site Asset Performance Community will take place on Thursday November 19th, during the Asset Performance Conference 2026 in Antwerp - Belgium. The conference already brings together maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals from different industries and countries and presents numerous practical cases on improving asset performance. The first community meeting will give multi-site leaders an opportunity to meet each other, identify their most relevant common challenges and help determine the priorities for the further development of the community.

The Multi-Site Asset Performance Community is powered by BEMAS – the Belgian Maintenance Association. BEMAS is a non-profit professional association dedicated to advancing maintenance, reliability and physical asset management. It brings together asset owners, maintenance professionals, service providers, experts and knowledge partners and facilitates knowledge exchange through communities, training, seminars, webinars and the international Asset Performance Conference.
Guided by experienced multi-site leaders
The community is guided by Jos Vermylen of TotalEnergies and Jan Sinaeve of Mainnovation. Both are Board Members of BEMAS and bring extensive practical experience to the initiative. Their role is to facilitate meaningful peer exchange and keep the discussions focused on the real challenges faced by multi-site leaders.
Jos Vermylen, VP Industrial Assets & Joint Ventures, TotalEnergies
Jos Vermylen is VP Industrial Assets & Joint Ventures at TotalEnergies and has more than 30 years of experience in operational and industrial leadership roles. Previously, he served as Director Operations of the TotalEnergies Antwerp refinery, with responsibility for the operations and maintenance of the refinery and its naphtha cracker. Earlier roles include Director of the Antwerp refinery turnaround, Operations Manager at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in the UK and Operations Manager Olefins in Antwerp. His experience combines operational leadership, maintenance and turnaround management with the broader business challenges facing asset-intensive industry.
Jan Sinnaeve, Managing Consultant, Mainnovation
Jan Sinaeve brings extensive hands-on experience in developing and deploying maintenance and technical services strategies across large multi-site organisations. At PepsiCo, he held several European and sector-level maintenance roles, including responsibility for maintenance strategy across 16 food and beverage sites in Western Europe and Iberia, the rollout of maintenance methodologies across 20+ beverage and juice sites, and CMMS standardisation across more than 90 sites. At La Lorraine Bakery Group, he subsequently designed and led the implementation of a common Technical Services Strategy across the group’s European sites, covering maintenance and reliability, automation, technical purchasing, spare parts management, CMMS standardisation, HSE and maintenance maturity improvement. Today Jan is Managing Consultant at Mainnovation helping various asset-intensive organisations create value through Maintenance & Asset Management.

Join the first meeting for free
The first meeting of the Multi-Site Asset Performance Community takes place during Asset Performance 2026 in Antwerp and is free to attend for eligible multi-site maintenance, reliability and asset leaders.
This introductory session is an opportunity to meet the other participants, exchange first experiences and help define the priorities for the community. Using a Give & Take exercise, participants will identify the challenges they can contribute experience on and the topics they would most like to explore with their peers.
After the community session, participants are welcome to stay for the afternoon programme of Asset Performance 2026, with practical industry cases, demonstrations and opportunities to connect with maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals from across Europe.
Participation in the evening keynote on Wednesday and access to the full two-day Asset Performance Conference can be booked separately.
Annual Community Membership plus first meeting participation
Following the introductory meeting, participants can join the Multi-Site Asset Performance Community for a full year of peer learning and exchange.
Annual membership includes:
- 3 focused online peer sessions, facilitated by experienced multi-site leaders Jos Vermylen and Jan Sinaeve;
- 1 annual face-to-face community meeting during the Asset Performance Conference;
- access to the Asset Performance Intelligence Hub throughout the membership period;
- access to a private online community space where members can continue discussions, exchange experience and connect throughout the year;
- a digital subscription to Maintworld;
- and, most importantly, access to a trusted network of peers facing similar multi-site challenges.
The agenda is shaped by the members themselves. Following the first session, the community facilitators will use the Give & Take input from participants to determine the priority topics for the year ahead.
To safeguard the quality and openness of the discussions, membership is reserved for professionals with genuine multi-site responsibilities in maintenance, reliability or asset management. Technology providers and other suppliers cannot join the community as members. Membership is therefore subject to approval.
